Assessment, data, and leadership decisions

Onboarding & Culture Assessment Dashboard

A mission-driven organization already had onboarding materials and culture initiatives, but leadership needed a clearer way to understand whether those practices were showing up consistently across roles and staff experience. The engagement was scoped to turn staff input and existing learning content into a practical leadership decision process.

Approach

EBS designed the engagement around implementation evidence rather than collecting feedback for its own sake. The method brings together role-specific and organization-wide staff input, existing onboarding content, structured analysis, and facilitated leadership interpretation.

The goal is to help leaders distinguish isolated experiences from recurring patterns and connect those patterns to the systems, learning content, and management practices already in place. This keeps the assessment focused on practical priorities rather than reducing staff experience to a score.

How we worked with the team

The work begins with customized survey content that reflects both organization-wide culture practices and the onboarding experiences of different roles. Scaled questions and open-ended prompts are structured to give staff more than one way to describe what they are experiencing.

Responses are organized in a Google Sheets dashboard designed to support data cleaning, pattern review, and interpretation across question types. Existing onboarding and Trainual content is reviewed alongside the staff input so leaders can compare intended practice with reported experience.

EBS then translates the analysis into an onboarding summary and leadership brief. Facilitated debriefs create space for leaders to examine the patterns together, consider context and tradeoffs, and identify the priorities that should move forward.

Results

The scoped result is a connected assessment process rather than a stand-alone survey: a customized instrument, an analysis dashboard, a structured review of staff responses and learning content, and leadership-facing materials for decision-making.

This structure is intended to help leadership see where onboarding and culture practices appear consistent, where implementation may be drifting, and where stronger systems or support may be needed before adding more training or activities.

The engagement is designed to leave the organization with focused priorities and a repeatable way to connect staff experience, existing content, and leadership decisions. Specific findings and organizational outcomes will be added only after the work is completed and confirmed.
